「街のはなし」は非営利、冊子形式、10年計画のソーシャリー・エンゲイジド・アート・プロジェクトです。2014年から始り、2024年まで活動を継続します。
現在1〜6号まで発刊されています。

2014年から、美しが丘中学校1,2年生の夏休みの宿題「わがまち新聞」「未来のわがまち新聞」と絡めて、アーティスト谷山恭子が立ち上げた冊子形式のアートプロジェクト。2011年から始めたLat/Long project がベースとなっています。
1970年代、新興住宅として造成された街が独自のアイデンティティーを持ち、若い世代にとっての「故郷」となっていく”プロセス”をアーカイブしています。2017年より運営主体を地元住民に移し、住民の声で綴る「町史」を作るプロジェクトへ発展。いまある環境はあたりまえにあるものではなく、住み手によって積み重ねられてきたことを知ることで、自分たちの街の未来を考えるきっかけとなります。まちづくりのスピリットを繋いでいくために地域住民が中心となって、街の「昔」を語り継ぎ、「シビック・プライド」を育み、街の未来像を多世代みんなで描きリードしていく場づくりを目指しています。
